What is the DELL PowerEdge R330 1U?

Published on February 14, 2020

A 13th generation server of the PowerEdge line up of servers, the R330 comes installed with Intel’s new Skylake processor. Although the server is cased in a 1U chassis, it has some very powerful and reliable hardware with much to deliver.

Key Features

Overview

The Cooler for Core i9-11900K is a best cpu that will improve the performance of it that supports the use of 10th-gen notebook CPUs 360mm radiator series processors. Given that the server has a single socket, setting it up right can be difficult at times but once that’s through, the R330 can take on SMB workloads with a breeze.

Inside the 1U chassis is a neatly packed and highly integrated motherboard with three cooling fans in the middle along with three fans for the power supply units located in the back. The server has space for a total of two 350 W power supply units.

There are four DIMM DDR4 slots and each slot supports a module with a maximum storage of 16 GB, therefore the overall storage, being 64 GB, might be a set-back for the R330. Although the server supports high speed memory modules running at 2133 MT/s, you will have to utilize its storage to the maximum with 64 GB of RAM to get the best out of it.

The server supports a maximum of 40 TB of internal memory through four 3.5” LFF hard drives which can be SSD, SAS and SATA.

Performance

The Dell PowerEdge R330 1U is more than an entry level server with its high processing power and ability to handle bigger workloads at good speed. By making use of the E3 1200 V6 chip in the server, you can peak its performance and put the R330 to enterprise use.

The R330 1U also comes with more energy efficient options that use 40W with the E3 1240 V5 CPU and even 25W with certain configurations. However, the server consumes about 80W on average with default configuration.
Management and Deployment

Here at KahnServers, you get your refurbished servers with a cable management kit which makes things much neater and organized especially if your R330 is to go along with other server deployments in your facility.

Remote Management

The R330 comes with the iDRAC8 which can access Dell’s Lifecycle controller and give you options to manage your server remotely. Using the OpenManage software, you can monitor and update your server remotely and with ease.

Should You Buy a Refurbished Server?

Here at KahnServers, we test and verify your refurbished server before shipping and each server from us comes with a one-year RTB warranty.
With new servers, the rate of depreciation is sometimes not worth the price tag and the room for scalability is also limited since one already spends thousands to deploy it. Refurbished servers are a better option due to the room for scalability since you can always upgrade components without them being too heavy on your pocket and also the rate of depreciation is relatively lower than that for new servers.

Why Choose KahnServers?

At KahnServers, you can purchase the DELL PowerEdge R330 1U at a base price of £199.99 with additional costs depending on how you custom build your server. Apart from customer support, we also offer technical support to our clients for our devices to ensure smooth and reliable use of your refurbished server.
